Two projects with Guardian Glass products receive AsBEA Award for Architecture 2018
Lageado 167 and Artsy Creative Life Work and Shop Building used Guardian SunGuard Light Blue 52 and Guardian SunGuard Neutral coated glass on the façades
São Paulo, Brazil, December 21, 2019 - Two projects in Porto Alegre (RS), Brazil, with glass façades clad with GuardianSunGuard coated glass products, received “Honorable Mentions” in the AsBEA Award for Architecture 2018.
Promoted by the Brazilian Association of Architecture Offices (AsBEA), the awards program, now in its 10th year, recognizes and values the quality and excellence of national architecture production, evidencing the ability of Brazilian studios to compete in an increasingly global business scenario.
Designed by Smart Architecture, the Lageado 167 project uses Guardian SunGuard Light Blue 52 on clear glass. The Artsy Creative Life Work and Shop project, from Ideia 1 and Smart Architecture, counts on the application of Guardian SunGuard Neutral on clear glass
“Glass has a prominent role in modern architecture. In addition to visual aesthetics, it supports sustainable benefits to projects, such as natural lighting, thermal comfort and reduction of electric energy consumption”, says Renato Sivieri, marketing director of Guardian Glass Brazil. "These are some of the differences that have contributed to the appreciation of the awarded buildings, and for us, it is a source of pride to have our products associated with projects recognized with this honor", he adds.
The Guardian SunGuard product line offers several glass options for commercial and residential façade applications. It is comprised of high-strength, durable solar control coated glass that filters ultraviolet and infrared rays. In this way, it contributes to the control of temperature and the luminosity of the environment, helping to minimize the consumption of electric energy through reduced need for air conditioning equipment and artificial lighting systems.
