Solar control glass

Transparent solar protection

Solar control glass lets sunlight pass through while reflecting a large part of the sun’s heat. Often specified for windows, roofs and glazed facades, solar control glass optimizes light transmission, solar control and high thermal performance. Solar control glass is ideal for maximizing natural daylight and reflecting the most solar heat away from the glass. The indoor space remains bright and much cooler than if regular glass were used. Solar control glass can help improve energy efficiency and reduce the need for air conditioning during warmer months.

You don't have to see to believe

Guardian scientists and researchers are continually developing new technologies that take energy efficiency, design flexibility and the well-being of occupants and contents to the next level. Each coating works to reflect both heat and destructive UV light, while at the same time letting visible light shine through. These coatings are so thin that, if a sheet of paper represents the coating, the glass would be a seven-story building.
