Safety and protection
Indoors, glass flooring scatters natural light into the farthest corners of the building, opens up work and community spaces, and transforms drab interiors into bright, stylish surroundings. Outdoors, glass can create magnificent bridges and stunning views of seemingly endless landscapes.
Safety is important when choosing glass for flooring, with glass thickness and construction critical. The support system for the glass needs to be strong enough to prevent distortion under load. Laminated safety glass is often recommended. The finished surface of the glass may also require anti-slip properties such as a printed surface.
