Description of the project

Designed by Snøhetta, Le Monde Group headquarters building in Paris has a dynamic, semi-transparent glazed façade that opens the building to its surroundings. The building’s pixelated outer skin consists of more than 20,000 glass elements in a strictly organized pattern that gives the building an appearance that shifts with the changing weather and light conditions.

Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX) 60 was chosen for the glazed façade. This triple silver coated solar control glass offers color consistency and low internal reflections. Guardian SNX 60 has a highly desirable, neutral and transparent appearance – regardless of the viewing angle. Internal colored reflection is optimized, adding a neutral tone to the glass when viewed from the inside of the building. Guardian SNX 60 lets in 60% of natural daylight combined with just 29% of the solar heat – one of the highest selectivity (ratio of light transmission to solar factor) offered by Guardian Glass products
