Solar Control Glass
Solar control glass is tinted and/or coated glass that reduces the amount of solar heat gain transmitted through a glazed product.
Guardian SunGuard® coated glass products offer unprecedented solar control in a broad range of design solutions, allowing you to fully explore the aesthetic and functional possibilities of light.
Solar control glass products specialize in blocking heat. They have a more reflective appearance and the lowest solar heat gain. For example, SunGuard Silver 20 (#2) on green/SuperNeutral 68 (#3) offers a relative heat gain of only 35, and a solar heat gain coefficient of just 0.14.
Tremendous advances in coated glass technologies has produced less reflective, more neutral-colored products that provide very low solar heat gain coefficients. For instance, SunGuard SNX 62/27 offers 62% light transmission with a low 0.27 solar heat gain coefficient to help meet energy conservation goals with a neutral appearance on clear glass.
