Description of the project

Designed by Park Associati, the headquarters of Engie is an attractive-looking office building located in the Bicocca area to the north of Milan. The 15,000 square-meter, six-storey building is a great example of how to renovate an outdated 1980s building into a modern, attractive, efficient building.

Guardian SunGuard™ SuperNeutral (SN) 70/37 coated solar control glass was chosen for the building’s ceiling-to-floor, double-glazed façade. As well as providing solar control and thermal insulation, the glazing also contributes to the building’s energy performance, while providing occupants with a visual connection between workspaces and the external environment

SN 70/37 offers uniformity of color and an excellent ratio between solar control and light transmission inside, helping to minimize the need for artificial, combined with outstanding thermal insulation. The glass also has a beautiful, neutral, transparent appearance with low reflection and consistent color.

The innovative, sustainable approach taken in the building’s renovation was rewarded with a LEED Platinum.
