Description of the project

The Highlight Towers are two office towers completed in 2004 in Munich’s Schwabing area. Designed by architects Murphy/Jahn (Chicago, USA), the two towers stand at 126 and 113 metres tall, respectively – two of the tallest buildings in Munich and a real eye-catcher for visitors approaching the city from the north.

The skyscrapers are connected by a double glass and steel bridge on the ninth and tenth floors and a single bridge on the 20th floor. Each tower has a floor area of around 1,000 square metres per floor. Overall, the facility offers over 70,000 square metres of office space.

The smooth glass facades make the buildings appear light and transparent. The glass ensures that plenty of natural daylight is allowed into the office spaces, ensuring the comfort and well-being of occupants. The windows are wind- and sound-resistant – part of the buildings’ environmentally friendly air conditioning and ventilation systems that allow individual ventilation for employees.

The proportion of glass used in the two towers is extremely high – covering a surface area of 54,000 square metres – all supplied by Guardian Glass.
