Description of the project

Designed by Enero Arqitectura, the Clinica Quirón hospital in Córdoba is a unique, modern piece of architecture that gives great prominence to daylight. Its striking exterior appearance is due to a metallic latticework skin of aluminum and glass that covers the building, with light filtered through this façade. The outer skin comprises of triangular aluminum lattice in gold and bronze, whose shades change depending on the inclination of the sun that’s reflected in it. The glass for the façade was carefully chosen to match the latticework colors and shades.

Two different triple silver coated solar control glass products are used for the façade vision areas: Guardian SunGuard® eXtra Selective (SNX) 50/23 and (SNX) 60/28, selected for their combination of aesthetic and performance qualities. The glass offers a neutral, transparent appearance and provides a good balance between high light transmission and solar factor, with outstanding thermal performance. Other areas of the façade use Guardian SunGuard® Solar Silver 10 and Solar Silver 20 solar control glass products.
