North Scott YMCA

The North Scott YMCA is a 43,500-square-foot facility that serves as both a home for the North Scott High School swim team and a vital resource for the surrounding community. The building incorporates a blend of precast concrete, thin brick, textured sandblasted finishes and SunGuard™ SNX 62/27 coating on CrystalGray glass for a striking architectural aesthetic. The high-performance glass balances solar control with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere while enhancing energy efficiency. The structure’s proximity to the Guardian Glass manufacturing facility in Dewitt, IA, helped ensure a successful collaboration for all project partners – ultimately establishing a vibrant hub for fitness, recreation and community engagement.
