How to write effective prompts

1452281128

The more context you give, the more precise and useful CLARIA™’s answers can be. To help you get the most out of our AI assistant, we’ve prepared a set of guided prompt templates and examples. These show you how to phrase your questions in a way that can make CLARIA more effective—whether you’re looking for product recommendations, performance calculations, visualizations, or compliance information.

Glass product recommendation

To get product recommendations that can meet specific performance requirements, please specify:

  1. Select the performance metric you want to compare: solar factor / SHGC / U-value / light transmission / light reflection
  2. Enter the target value you are aiming for (e.g. 0.25, 60%, 1.0 W/m²K,…)
  3. Add the building type (e.g. school, office, hospital, residential home,…)
  4. Add the glazing type and application (e.g. monolithic, double, triple glazing / windows, curtain wall, skylight,…)
  5. Indicate your preferred appearance (e.g. neutral or colored look, interior vs. exterior reflectivity, desired aesthetic effect)"

Example prompt:

"I’m working on an office building and need a product that can achieve a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.30 (or a solar factor of 30) and a light transmission of minimum 60% in double glazing for a curtain wall, with a neutral appearance and low exterior reflectivity. What would you recommend?"

To get product recommendations that can provide a specific function, or be used in a specific application, please specify:

  1. The main function you need (e.g. prevent overheating, improve thermal insulation, reduce external noise, provide hurricane protection, reduce reflection, improve security, control glare)
  2. The glazing type or buildup (e.g. monolithic, double, triple glazing)
  3. The intended application (e.g. curtain wall, skylight, façade, curved glazing, windows, interior partition)
  4. The project type or context (e.g. office building, school, residential project, hospital)"

Example prompt:

"I’m working on a school project with large skylights. I need a product that can help prevent overheating in summer while still allowing plenty of natural light. What would you recommend?"

Glazing performance calculation

To calculate the energy and light performance of a glazing unit, please specify:

  1. Type of glazing buildup (monolithic, double, or triple glazing)
  2. Guardian Glass products used
  3. Gap details (e.g. argon / air / krypton)
  4. Calculation standard (e.g. NFRC, EN, GOST EN)

Example prompt:

"Can you help me calculate the energy and light performance for a double-glazed unit made of SunGuard SNX 70+ on CrystalClear on the exterior, an argon gap, and standard clear float glass on the interior, according to NFRC calculation standards?

Glass products comparison

To compare two products, please specify:

  1. The products you want to compare
  2. The aspects you want compared (e.g. performance values such as U-value, solar factor, light transmission / aesthetics such as neutrality, reflectivity, color / embodied carbon)

Example prompt:

“I am working on a school project where the façade consultant has recommended either SunGuard SNX 70 or SunGuard SN 70/37 for the glazing. Could you help me compare these two products in terms of performance and aesthetics?”

Glass product visualization

To explore how a glass product will look in real applications, please specify:

  1. The product name (i.e. SunGuard SNX 70+, …)

Example prompt:

“I’m working on an office building where SunGuard SNX 70+ has been recommended for the façade. How can I visualize this product to better understand its neutrality and overall impact on the building’s design?”

Product availability and processability

To check a product’s availability and fabrication options, please include the following information:

  1. Product name (i.e. SunGuard SNX 70+, …)
  2. Desired substrate(s) and thickness (e.g., Guardian UltraClear, 6 mm)
  3. Maximum dimension needed (e.g., width and height in mm or inches)
  4. Fabrication requirements (e.g., heat-treated, edge-deleted, bent, tempered)
  5. IGU-specific instructions (e.g., can it be used in a monolithic application or should it be only used in an insulating glass unit? Does it require edge deletion? Which surface should the coating be on?)

Example prompt:

"I’m specifying SunGuard SNX 70+ on CrystalClear for my project. I need it available in 8 mm, up to 50″ × 120″ dimensions, and it must be heat-treated. Could you confirm whether these fabrication specs are supported and advise on the recommended coating position within the triple Insulating Glass Unit and potential coating edge deletion needs?"

To find a supplier of Guardian Glass, please specify:

  1. Your location or project location (e.g. Madrid, Spain; Munich, Germany; Chicago, USA)
  2. The type of supplier you need (e.g. glass processor, cladder, fabricator, dealer)
  3. The product(s) you need

Example prompt:

"Can you suggest a glass processor in the Madrid area who could supply me with 300 m² of double glazing with Guardian Sun for a residential project?"

Building codes

To check if a product can meet local building code requirements, please specify:

  1. The country and region/city where the project is located (e.g. Madrid, Spain; Texas, USA; Dubai, UAE)
  2. The relevant building code or regulation (e.g. International Building Code (IBC), Eurocode, Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE), local safety glass standards)
  3. The specific requirement to be met (e.g. impact resistance, acoustic insulation, thermal insulation, hurricane resistance, safety glazing)
  4. The application or glazing buildup (e.g. curtain wall, triple glazing, skylight, interior partition, laminated safety glass)
  5. The type of support needed (e.g. product recommendation, compliance statement, technical datasheet, test certificate)

Example prompt:

“I’m working on a residential project in Madrid, Spain, and need glazing that complies with the Spanish Technical Building Code (CTE) for safety glass in windows. Can you recommend Guardian products that meet this requirement and provide the necessary documentation?”

Building certification programs

To understand how glass can help with a building certification, please specify:

  1. The certification program you are targeting (e.g. LEED v5, BREEAM, WELL)
  2. The category or credit where glass may contribute (e.g. Optimize Energy Performance in Energy & Atmosphere, Environmental Product Declarations in Materials & Resources, Daylight Credit in Indoor Environmental Quality,…)
  3. The type of product support you need (e.g. specific product recommendations, performance data, or general guidance)
  4. Any specific documents required for the certification submission (e.g. EPDs, HPDs, declarations, technical datasheets, third-party certifications)

Example prompt:

I’m working on an office project targeting LEED certification. I need glass that can help contribute to the Optimize Energy Performance credit in the Energy and Atmosphere category. Can you recommend suitable Guardian products and provide the EPD documentation required for the certification process?
