Clayton Community Centre

Distinguished as North America’s inaugural Passive House certified community center and the largest non-residential certified project in Canada, the Clayton Community Centre embodies innovative design principles and community-centric vision. Rooted in a design philosophy that mirrors the surrounding forest, the building’s roof and envelope emulate a tree canopy, unifying traditionally distinct civic services beneath a leaf-inspired heavy timber structure. The center is actively pursuing the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Gold Certification, reflecting its commitment to universal accessibility. Careful consideration of glazing helps defines the center’s thoughtful design, and features SunGuard™ SN 68 coating on clear glass.
