Glass Type:

Safety & security glass

It takes the hit

When it comes to your safety and security, Guardian Glass offers a robust variety of state-of-the-art options. From accidental impact to intentional threat, occupants bask in the light while staying safe.

Tempered glass

Fully tempered Guardian glass is approximately four to five times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness and configuration. When broken, tempered glass breaks into relatively small fragments less likely to cause serious injury. Fully tempered Guardian glass is the perfect choice where building codes or design specifications require safety glazing.

Laminated glass

Guardian provides a wide range of laminated glass configurations that significantly improve a window’s ability to withstand or resist breakage from exterior forces, including high winds, flying debris and intruders. A tough interlayer between each pane captures broken glass to enhance its safety properties. Laminated glass can help quiet buildings as well, reducing noise from traffic, construction and even airports. In addition, it can block 99.9% of the sun’s UV rays for superior fade protection.

Solar control and thermal insulation

Most SunGuard® architectural coatings and ClimaGuard® residential coatings may be used on tempered glass, laminated glass, or both, for increased solar control and thermal insulation while keeping building occupants secure. Commercial applications, such as schools, shopping malls and hospitals, may require its use. Learn more about these coatings and how they can be used with tempered and laminated glass.
