Henry Ford Cancer Institute Pavilion

A light-filled place for healing and hope

The pavilion of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute, with its soaring glass beacon, elevated ceilings and spacious windows, is awash in light. It signals and supports the comfort, hope and insight people find in this place. The institute is a destination for seamlessly integrated cancer care, not only for the 10,000+ new patients it serves each year, but also for medical professionals who come from afar to learn about emerging treatments, research and specialty clinics. Applied here on clear glass, SunGuard® SN 68 is a performance coating that transmits an extraordinary amount of light with an appealing neutral appearance, while minimizing the heat gained from the sun’s rays. In bathing this space with restorative daylight, it is part of a response to input from patients, survivors and their families, who envisioned the facility as a holistic healing environment.
