The Tirana New Bazaar, designed by Atelier 4 Architects, is an inspiring urban regeneration project aimed at preserving the culturally rich tradition of the Bazaar whilst building a modern pavilion to accommodate the open market.
The development encompasses more than just the pavilion, with an initiative to redevelop the urban quarter being at the core of the project –accomplished in large part thanks to the construction of a car park, a recreational zone and further renovations made on the facades of the adjacent buildings. The development was awarded the Emerging Europe Award for the ‘Renewal project of the year 2018’ thanks to the successful transformation of the Bazaar into a hub for shopping, cuisine and tourism.
Guardian SunGuard® HD Royal Blue coated glass was used to glaze the roof of the pavilion and Guardian ClimaGuar® Premium2 coated glass was used on the façade. The combination of these products not only provides remarkable aesthetic qualities, but the SunGuard® coating provides high solar protection, helping to keep the building and its occupants cool.
