The Health Product Declaration (HPD) Open Standard provides a framework for product manufacturers to disclose the materials used in the manufacture of their products and associated health information. The HPD process screens the materials using the HPD Priority Hazard Lists and the GreenScreen® for Safer Chemicals tools. These tools only evaluate the raw materials as present in the manufacturing stage and do not assess the chemistry of the product across all product life cycle stages. An HPD does not evaluate the exposure or health risk of using or handling the product. HPDs complement lifecycle-based reports such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
By publishing HPDs, Guardian Glass intends to continue to support architects and designers who strive to enhance building performance profiles through the products they specify. The HPD Open Standard is a disclosure framework with widespread industry use and acceptance in the various building rating systems (LEED, WELL, BREEAM, etc.).
Are you aiming to achieve a building certification for your project? We can provide material health information needed to help earn points in global building rating systems.
Guardian Glass offers three HPDs covering the following product categories, globally: uncoated float, sputter (vacuum) coated (including Commercial SunGuard™ and residential ClimaGuard™ products) and UltraMirror™ products.
Guardian’s Uncoated Float, Vacuum (Sputter) Coated, and UltraMirror HPDs are third-party verified.
