Why Guardian BPC coating?
Sputter coatings are composed of metal oxide layers that give glass its advanced energy performance. However, some of these coatings can be vulnerable to scratches, marks, and other quality issues during transport and processing, such as cutting, edge deletion, and tempering. For glass processors, protecting these coatings helps maintain product quality and improve yield throughout the transformation process. Guardian BPC coating delivers a range of practical advantages designed to help glass processors protect coated glass effectively during glass processing.
What are the benefits of Guardian BPC coating?
Optimized transportation without protection lites
Traditionally, transporting coated glass requires an additional protection lite to help prevent scratches. With Guardian BPC coating, this extra lite is no longer needed. You may receive one more lite of the coated glass you ordered, with no added handling or inventory management steps to remove the protection lite in your warehouse.
Streamlined edge deletion and preparation
Edge deletion of coatings protected by Guardian BPC coating is performed like standard coated glass and takes the same time as processing unprotected glass. There is no need for special equipment or additional steps due to the protective layer. During the cutting and edge deletion process, Guardian BPC generates minimal to no dust and odor.
Reduced tempering cycle time
Guardian BPC coating can help shorten tempering times by up to ~12%, depending on the thickness of the glass and the type of furnace, supporting improved operational and energy efficiency in your processing lines.
