A brand-new sports complex of SKA hockey club is located in the eastern suburb of Saint-Petersburg. Member teams of the Continental hockey league and Youth hockey league also train and compete here, and the rest of the time the ice arena is used for public skating or events of various sorts. The facility is remarkable for its original design. From the outside diagonal blazing strokes form a star against the background of the matted “ice” façade. Once inside, visitors are surrounded by a sea of greenish glass, as if they were literally trapped within a tremendous block of ice.
