Guardian Glass Celebrates North American Jumbo Coater Start
First Jumbo Glass Will Clad Iconic Detroit Building Expansion
Auburn Hills, Mich. – October 9, 2018 – Guardian Glass is now producing jumbo coated glass in North America. The company recently completed all testing on its jumbo coater in Carleton, Michigan and started coating its float glass with Guardian SunGuard® SuperNeutral® 68 HT coating.
This jumbo coater is Guardian’s 12th globally and the company’s first in North America.
“We’re pleased to announce that the first project that will feature glass from the new jumbo coater is One Campus Martius, in Detroit, just miles from Guardian’s plant in Carleton, Michigan,” says Rick Zoulek, vice president – Americas, Guardian Glass. “Our partnership with Cristacurva on this project is just the start of a new level of service: We’re bringing value to our customers by offering much larger sizes of coated glass, while helping architects achieve their design vision.”
