OSF Cancer Institute and Proton Therapy Center

In realizing its vision for a new Cancer Institute and Proton Therapy Center, Order of Saint Francis (OSF) HealthCare has created a beacon of hope and healing on its main campus. This five-story, 190,000-square-foot facility embodies a collaborative care concept, emphasizing wellness and prevention in the fight against cancer. With a dedicated focus on interdisciplinary approaches to treatment, the design fosters a holistic approach and facilitates spaces for cancer teams to convene and discuss cases. Disease prevention is intricately woven into every aspect of the design, including the strategic use of SunGuard™ SNX 62/27 on clear glass to help promote a sense of wellbeing. The glass not only offers stunning views and access to a new patient garden, but also balances light and solar energy effectively with its advanced triple-silver technology. With an impressive light-to-solar gain ratio, the facility achieves daylighting goals, creates inviting spaces, enhances occupant comfort and aligns with LEED® principles.
