Description of the project

The V-shaped laboratory building is divided into public and private areas that surround a central courtyard. Those separate wings hinge on a double height entrance foyer, within which a long, elegant ramp allows circulation between floors.

The use of advanced Guardian® glass, in addition to these other innovative features, has helped the iLab to attain the first LEED Platinum environmental accreditation in Italy. The structure aspires to be nothing less than “a benchmark of sustainable design in Europe,” according to Richard Meier & Partners.
