At 150 meters high, the ALTO Tower in Paris offers high-end office space across 38 floors. The tower stands out due to its glass façade and flared shape. At each level, the edge beam shifts outwards by 12cm and with it the façade. The double skin façade has open exterior cladding that comprises of Guardian SunGuard® Guardian SunGuard® HD Silver 70 laminated glass. The glass gives the building both aesthetic appeal and high energy performance. SunGuard® HD Silver 70 met the architect’s requirements in terms of its neutral aspects, high light transmission and specific light reflection.
SunGuard® HD Silver 70 offers mechanical and chemical durability, allowing it to be used for monolithic applications, when applied on the inside surface. Its use on the external wall of double skin facades allows the temperature inside the building to be reduced as well as inside the air gap. The breathable glazed façade allows natural ventilation of the wall, while hiding the insulation itself, and from the ground floor upwards, houses air intakes on the north and south sides that allow each floor to be ventilated in a more natural and economical way. In terms of energy efficiency and environmental profile, the project is certified BREEAM® Excellent.
